FRED OSTROM SERVICES HELD

Fred (Jim) Ostrom, 63, of Rte. 1, Chelsea, died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Tower Park Nursing Home in Oskaloosa.

The son of Fred G. and Maria Houseman Ostrom, he was born May 10, 1909, at Hartwick. He married Hazel Swain, Oct. 26, 1929, in Hartwick. He was a farmer and had farmed for 20 years northwest of Brooklyn as well as in the Hartwick area.

Mr. Ostrom was a member of the Madison Church of Christ, Brooklyn.

He is survived by his wife Hazel; one daughter, Mrs. David (Marlene) Hammond of Cedar Rapids; and six sisters, Mrs. Hazel Blankenship of Great Falls, Mont., Mrs. Edna Ryan of Brooklyn, Mrs. Rolla Smith of Montezuma, Mrs. Nellie Harris of Denison, Mrs. Fred Bees of Hartwick, and Mrs. Delmar Heishman of Brooklyn.

He was preceded n death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services for Mr. Ostrom were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in Brooklyn, with the Rev. Kenneth Siemens, pastor of the Madison Church of Christ, and the Rev. Robert Seath, Central Christian College, Moberly, Mo., officiating. Burial was in Oakhill Cemetery, Belle Plaine.
