DALE CESSNA PASSES AWAY

Active Young Farmer Dies of Flu After Week's Illness.

Horace Dale Cessna, eldest son of Senator and Mrs. T.C. Cessna, died Wednesday night, Nov. 27, at nine o'clock after an illness of one week of flu and pneumonia.

Dale Cessna was born Oct. 26, 1891, in Chester township. At his death he was 27 years, 1 month and 1 day old. For years he had been right hand man for his father, the manager of the farm, a clean, strong, vigorous young man.

He was taken sick Wednesday evening, Nov. 20. He had been at work all day, and went to Grinnell to meet his father on the 10:30 p.m. train but became so ill that he was obliged to return home before the train arrived. Pneumonia did not set in until about 36 hours before his death.

Dale Cessna will be sadly missed in the home and among a large circle of friends. Karl is expected tomorrow from Houston, Tex. Funeral arrangements are not yet made.
