FRANK NAYLOR WESCO

Frank Naylor Wesco was born February 17, 1872, in Poweshiek county, Iowa, and died at St. Francis Hospital in Grinnell on April 20, 1957, at the age of 85.

His parents, Reuben Wesco and Nancy Wilson Wesco, were married in the state of Ohio. They moved to a farm in Chester township which has always been known as the Wesco Homestead. Here Frank was born, grew to manhood, and on February 24, 1897, was married to Miss Hattie Bacon. He took his bride to the farm where Harold Caesar now lives.

He was a family man, but still gave a lot of his time and ability to the township in which he lived. For 40 years he was on the election board, and was Chester township trustee for a number of years. He was always known as a kind friend and helpful neighbor.

He was 80 years old when they left the farm five years ago and came to Grinnell to make their home. The last six months he had spent in the St. Francis hospital in Grinnell.

Preceding him in death were his wife Hattie, his parents, two sons, Bill and Earl, and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Foster. Left to mourn his passing is a daughter, Mrs. Mabel Harrison; two grandsons, Bill and Jack Harrison; a sister, Mrs. Cora Bacon; two great-grandchildren, Danny and Jeffrey Harrison, and a host of relatives and friends.
