BEVERLEY BURCH SERVICES HELD
Beverley A. Burch, 60, of 605 Reed St., Grinnell, died of cancer Sunday, April 12, at Grinnell General Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Curtis Brouwer of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Organist was Kathleen Heffner and vocalist was Barbara Brouwer. Pallbearers were Robert Baird, Douglas Cameron, Jim George, James McKenna, Robert Norman and Thomas Norman.
Military rites were conducted at Hazelwood Cemetery by members of the Grinnell Veterans Ceremonial Unit. Memorials in Mr. Burch's name may be left at the funeral home.
The son of Arthur and Mable Louise Ostman Burch, he was born May 24, 1926 in Grinnell. He attended Grinnell schools. During World War II he served with the U.S. Navy.
On May 5, 1948, he was married to Willena Ruth Jochims in Grinnell. He was employed by several local automotive garages, then worked as a custodian in the Grinnell-Newburg schools for the past 13 years.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda Norman of Rockford, Ill., and Diane Posekany of Grinnell; seven sons, Larry, David, John, Ed, Kevin, Jeff and Dan Burch, all of Grinnell; 16 grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Miller of Marshalltown; and a brother, Don of Ankeny.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul; and one sister, Irene Burch.
