'BETTY' MILLER
Dorothy Ann "Betty" Miller, 67, of Grinnell died Tuesday, May 27, at her home.
Funeral services were conducted Friday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. William Reynolds officiating. Music was provided by St. Mary's Choir and organist Kyle Szary.
Pallbearers were Frank Webster; Kelly, Sean and Colby Miller; Ron Higgins; and Michael Gardner. Honorary bearers were Danny Arrowood, David Arrowood, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Clausen, Mary Lacy, Della Welsh, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry McGinnis and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Moyer.
Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The daughter of Ivan E. and Barbara A. Bunce Gardner, she was born Aug. 30, 1929, in Des Moines. She received her education at a private girls' Catholic school in Omaha.
She was married to James H. Miller Dec. 29, 1947, in Unionville, Mo., and the couple lived in Des Moines before moving to Grinnell in 1950. She was employed at the Speed Queen Laundry on State St. for several years and later in the emergency room of Grinnell Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband; four children, Barbara Webster of Gilman, Kelly Miller of Sully, Sean Miller of Grinnell and Colby Miller of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Maxine Gardner of Newton; two brothers, Charles Gardner of Melrose and Michael Gardner of Payson, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kyle; and two brothers, James and William Gardner.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society.
