JOHN T. NOLAN

A memorial Mass for John T. Nolan, 74, who died Nov. 24, 1997, will be held at St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6.

Mr. Nolan was a resident of Bradenton, Fla.

He was born May 15, 1924, in Stratford, Conn. He spent his childhood in Derby, Conn., and graduated from St. Mary's High School there in 1941. He was a graduate of Penn State University and Cornell University Law School.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946.

He was married to Wilma May "Billie" Ahrens of Grinnell Aug. 3, 1949.

Mr. Nolan began his legal career working for Newton Manufacturing Co. in 1951. He moved to Niles, Mich., in 1956 and was associated with Tyler Refrigeration in Niles and Clark Equipment Co. in Buchanan, Mich., until 1958. He then moved to Sylvania, Ohio, and was affiliated with Jeep Corp. until the company's merger with American Motors Corp. in Detroit. He retired in 1982 as corporate secretary for Questor Corp. in Toledo, Ohio. He had been a Bradenton resident since 1993.

Surviving are a sister, Grace Ring of Ansonia, Conn.; two children, Joanne Illingworth of Medina, Ohio, and John M. of Mt. Carmel, Ill.; and four grandsons.
