RITES HERE FOR FORMER RESIDENT, LOUISE E. ROTH

Mrs. Louise E. Roth, 64, of LaGrange, Ill., and a former resident of Grinnell, died Friday afternoon at a local hospital. She had been hospitalized for the last six weeks.

Requiem high mass was held at 9 a.m. today (Monday) from St. Mary's Catholic church with the pastor, the Rev. Leo V. Kuebrich, officiating. Rosary was recited Sunday evening at the Smith funeral home.

Pallbearers were Dale Fleener, Gerald Kriegel, Robert Kriegel, Charles P. Vogel, Leonard Roth and Gene Berry. Burial was in Calvary cemetery at Brooklyn.

Born in Malcom on Nov. 29th, 1897, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Mary Maschino Fogel. She received her education in the Malcom rural schools and on April 17th, 1918, was united in marriage with Frank W. Roth in Brooklyn.

To this union were born six children: Mrs. John (Frances) Thompson, Jr., of Rte. 2, Grinnell; Mrs. Sherril (Helen) Lynch of LaGrange, Ill.; Arthur Joseph Roth of Redmond, Wash.; James Alfred Roth of Des Moines; Raymond Louis Roth of Lamont, Ill.; and Frank Roth, Jr., of Omaha.

After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Roth lived on a farm northwest of Grinnell. In 1934, they moved to Grinnell where they made their home until 1952 when they moved to LaGrange, Ill. Mr. Roth had operated a stock trucking business on south West Street here.

When living in Grinnell, Mrs. Roth was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and while in LaGrange was a member of St. Cletus Catholic church.

She is survived by her six children, 28 grandchildren and one half-sister, Mrs. Mary Puls of Grinnell.

Her husband preceded her in death on March 9th, 1960.
