ROBERT MARON

Robert Maron, 77, of Oakland, Calif., formerly of Grinnell, died July 20 at his home.

A private family burial service will be held at a later date at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The son of Arthur and Della Larison Maron, he was born Sept. 27, 1922, in Dolliver. He moved with his family to Grinnell in 1938 and was a 1940 graduate of Grinnell High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. Mr. Maron was a district sales representative for Interntional Minerals and Chemicals for several years while living in Chicago. He had been a resident of Oakland since 1980.

He had been president of the Northgate Tenants Association in Oakland since 1989.

Surviving is one sister, Donna Puls of Grinnell.

A Robert E. Maron Memorial Fund has been established, and contributions may be sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.
