RITES FOR MRS. WHITE

Jean K. White, 63, Rt. 1, Grinnell, died Thursday, Sept. 17 at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, of a lung ailment.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Sept. 21, at Smith Funeral Home with the Dr. Carl Klein, senior pastor of Faith United Methodist Church, Farragut, formerly of Kellogg, officiating. Organist was Margaret Wheeler and vocalist Steven L. Fritz, Marshalltown. Pallbearers were Curtis Dunsbergen, Jim Graham, Berle Hibbs, Floyd Hunter, Richard Meckley and Duane White. In charge of flowers were Lauretta Hibbs and Elsie Hunter. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association and left at Smith Funeral Home.

The daughter of Charles J. and Rose K. Ourada Garrigan she was born Feb. 15, 1924, and attended the Grinnell schools, graduating with the Grinnell High School class of 1942. On June 7,1943, she was married to Myron White at Santa Ana Army Air Force Base, Calif. She taught in rural schools in the Grinnell (area) for one year. In 1946 the family moved to the Bethel area southwest of Grinnell where they farmed and have since resided. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and had worked at the former Bang's women's clothing store.

She is survived by her husband Myron; three sons Gary, Fort Collins, Colo.; Douglas, Ames, and Edward, Monroe; two grandsons and one sister, Kathleen Garrigan, Omaha, Neb. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Francis C. Garrigan.
