FANNY RUTH RICKARD

Fanny Ruth Rickard, daughter of Martin and Anna Turner Rickard, was born January 5, 1879, in Chester Township, near Grinnell, Iowa. With the exception of a few years spent in Nebraska and in South Dakota, she lived her entire life in this community.

About 1941, Miss Rickard moved to Grinnell where she has made her home ever since. During her lifetime she had suffered much illness, and after long confinement, she passed away November 9, 1957, past 78 years of age.

Her three brothers, Elmer, Alvin, and Henry, preceded her in death. She is survived by her nephews and nieces, Mrs. Willard Wells, Grinnell, Myrle and Chester Rickard, South Dakota, Mrs. Harold Groff, Idaho, Mrs. L.A. Dimond, Texas, Mrs. Alma Turner, Colorado, Ralph R. Rickard in Iowa, and Mrs. Hilliard Turner, Grinnell, Glen Rickard, California, several cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Nov. 12th from the James Funeral Home with the Rev. C.E. Kingsley officiating. Pallbearers were Ralph Rickard, Hilliard Turner, Willard Wells and Roger Sears.
