TRENT W. CHENEY

Trent W. Cheney, age 6, rural Deep River, son of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy (Linda) Cheney, died Saturday, March 29, 1986, at University Hospitals in Iowa City from injuries suffered in an accident Friday in front of his home.

He was a kindergarten student at Montezuma Community School and attended the Victor Methodist Church at Victor.

He is survived by his parents, two sisters, Tammy and Tracie, and one brother, Tommy. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Mevin (Dora) Jack of Victor and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Duane) Cheney of Deep River and great-grandmother, Helen Holst, of Belle Plaine.

Services are Wednesday, April 2, at the Victor United Methodist church, with burial at Golden Rod Cemetery at Deep River.

Two memorials have been established. They are the preschool kindergarten of the Victor Methodist church and the pediatric intensive care unit at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

The Rev. Jack Weida will officate at services, and casket bearers are Marvin Bunnell, Raymond Thompson, Richard Geiger, John Winegarden, Kenneth Wallace and Jim Reitzler.

ACCIDENT KILLS
D.R. BOY, 6

Trent Cheney, 6, of rural Deep River died Saturday at University Hospitals, Iowa City, the day after a highway accident at his home. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Roy Cheney, and a kindergarten student at Montezuma schools.

The youngster drove an all-terrain vehicle across Highway 21 which separates the Cheney farm home from the livestock barns. He drove into a car driven by Mary Ellen DeRonde of New Sharon. His father was nearby, carried the boy to the house and the Deep River Firemen's rescue unit was called. Taken by air ambulance to Iowa City, Trent never regained consciousness.

Services are April 2 at Victor Methodist Church.
