MR. SHOEMAKER SERVICES TODAY

Dwight E. Shoemaker, 76, died Friday morning, Sept. 7, at a Newton nursing home where he had lived for the past several years.

Graveside services were conducted at 10 a.m. today at Our Silent City Cemetery, Kellogg. Friends may call the Smith Funeral Home for additional information.

The son of Earl and Juan Moody Shoemaker, he was born Nov. 2, 1907, in Grinnell. He attended Grinnell schools.

Mr. Shoemaker lived in Kellogg for a number of years, then came to Grinnell where he worked as a house painter and home decorator.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Cooper Shoemaker, a resident of an Ames nursing home; four stepchildren, Helen Allen, Ralph Bates, Glenn Bates and Robert Bates; and one sister, Frances T. Craven of Marshalltown.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
