IRENE KRUMM RITES TODAY
Irene E. Krumm, 77, of rural Gilman died Friday afternoon at the Marshall County Care Facility near Marshalltown.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, with Don Britt, pastor of the Gilman Community Church, officiating. Burial will be at Westfield Cemetery southwest of Grinnell.
Should friends desire memorials in Mrs. Krumm's name may be made to the Gilman Community Church.
The daughter of Fred C. and Ella C. Guthrie Woodrow, she was born March 26, 1899, in Newton. She attended Newton Public Schools and was graduated from Newton High School. She later received her B.S. degree from the Universtiy of Iowa.
She was principal of the Denver, Iowa, High School for five years and cashier for the Newton Telephone Co. for two years.
On June 24, 1929, she was married to Rudolph Krumm at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple had five children. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Krumm lived in Council Bluffs. In 1944, they moved to a farm near Newburg, and they moved to their present farm west of Gilman in 1950.
Mrs. Krumm is survived by her husband, Rudolph; four children, Mrs. William (Gwen) Ward of St. Anthony, Mrs. Richard (Vivian) Krough of Marshalltown, Mrs. Daryl (Donna) Norris of Kellogg, and Eugene Krumm of Wellsville, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; and one brother, Myron Woodrow of Newton, She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Shirley, who died in infancy; and one brother, Arthur Woodrow.
