MARGUERITE MART

Marguerite Mart, 86, of 928 Park St., Grinnell, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the Mayflower Health Care Center.

A prayer service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 1 p.m. at Hazelwood Cemetery. The Rev. Daniel I. Ogata will officiate.

Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday, and the family will be present at the funeral home from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The daughter of Roswell and Louise McMullen Otis, she was born April 14, 1914, in Casey. The family moved to Grinnell, and she graduated from Grinnell High School and attended Grinnell College.

She was married to George Mart June 14, 1932, in Papillion, Neb. They lived in Grinnell and operated the Strand and Iowa theaters. They built the former Grinnell Drive-in Theater in 1954.

Mrs. Mart is survived by one daughter, Gretchen Mart of Salt Lake City, Utah; one brother, Ross Otis of Hawarden; and one sister, Joan Maddy of Council Bluffs.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Joe Otis; and two sisters, Wilma Bonyata and Helen Thomas.
