J. N. Davis suddenly dropped dead of heart failure Wednesday evening at about five o'clock, in the north part of the city while looking after some business matters. Mr. Davis's death came as a great shock to his family as he was in his usual health and was not even known to have any heart trouble. Mr. Davis was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, in 1854, being fifty years of age the first of this month.
