RITES HELD FOR MR. TRIPLETT

Rolland L. Triplett, 48, of Searsboro died Saturday evening at his home of an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Irene Weiter, pastor of the Searsboro Community Friends Church, officiating. Organist will be Julia Pearce. Pallbearers will be Keith Bortell, Henry Fortner, John Hardeman, Arlo Van Hovever, Darrell Lender, Mike Mintle, Mike Phillips and John Terpstra. Graveside rites will be conducted by Marion Gibson, commander; Edwin Richardson, chaplain; and members of the Grinnell Veterans Ceremonial Unit. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Searsboro.

The son of Luellan and Lorena Smith Triplett, he was born July 5, 1929, at Long Pine, Neb. He moved to Grinnell with his family in 1942, attending school here. In 1946, he entered the U.S. Army and served during World War II in Italy.

Following his discharge from the Army, he was married to Arlene Mae Church on Jan. 26, 1951, in Grinnell. He worked for 16 years on the star mail route and was also employed at the former Parson Foundry at Newton. For the past three years he had worked at Miracle Recreation Equipment Co. here.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene; four children, Judith Eloise Triplett of Searsboro, Sgt. Dwight David Eisenhower Triplett of Fort Riley, Kan., Rita Mae Triplett of Malcom, and Christina LaVerne Triplett of the family home; three grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond Triplett of Grinnell, Ronald Triplett of Sun Valley, Calif., and Joe L. Triplett of Riverside, Calif.; and five sisters, Mrs. Earl (Ruth) Lemke of Kellogg, Mrs. Clyde (Betty) Phipps of Riverside, Calif., Mrs. Wilbur (Donna) Hunter of Kellogg, Mrs. Bobbett Henning of Kellogg, and Mrs. Barbara Wright of Brooklyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert.
