FRED SCHRADER RITES TUESDAY

Fred Schrader, 62, of 521 Main St., died suddenly of an apparent heart attack Saturday morning.

The son of John and Anna Hofmaster Schrader, he was born near Marengo June 15, 1910. He was married to Jean McBlain March 15, 1933, in Chicago, Ill. The couple had two daughters, both of whom survive: Mrs. Arnold (Anne) Williams of Corona, Calif., and Mrs. David (Susan) Sears of Pleasantville.

Mr. Schrader was a custodian at Grinnell Community Hospital, and for the past 30 years had been employed by Iowa Southern Utilities Co. where he was a boilerman at the heating plant, and later served as a meterman. He was a member of the Grinnell Elks Lodge.

Mr. Schrader is survived by his wife, Jean; his two daughters; and four grandchildren, Tamera, Kimberly, Vickie and Arnold Williams Jr. Also surviving are Mr. Schrader's step mother, Mrs. Gladys Fitzgerald of Atkins, Iowa, and his step sister and step brother, Mrs. Clara Bennet of Atkins and Floyd Dunbar of Van Horne. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mrs. Helen Schmahl.

Funeral srvices for Mr. Schrader will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Christianson, pastor of the Kellogg Christian Church officiating. Organist will be Mrs. Willard Heffner. Pallbearers will be Calvin Barns, Harold Haines, Warren Miller, James Robison, Clark Wilson, and Bernard Young.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.
