Janice Kay Korns was born August 2, 1960 in Rapid City, South Dakota at Ellsworth Air Force Base. She died Monday, September 14, 2009 at the Brooklyn Community Estates in Brooklyn, Iowa. She was the daughter of Doris A. Bunn and the late William Franklin Korns. A memorial fund has been established.

Janice received her education in Brooklyn, Iowa and graduated from the BGM Schools. She worked for many years at Jim and Mary’s. Her last employment was with BGM schools as a one-on-one aide in the high school.

Janice enjoyed being with children, cooking, playing cards and games on the computer and she was an avid reader.

Janice was an awesome mom and aunt to many. Her most precious love and devotion went to her daughter Brettney Michelle Korns.

She is survived by her daughter Brettney; her two moms: Doris A. Bunn and Janet L. Korns both of Brooklyn; two sisters: Sherry Korns-Johnson (Steve) of Brooklyn and Angie Bayer (Joel) of Victor; two brothers: Charlie Korns of Brooklyn and Dan Bunn (Whitney) of Marengo; one step-sister Darla Ingersoll (Tim); two step-brothers: Mark Rhinehart (Kayleen) and Steven Rhinehart (Jennifer) all of Brooklyn; and nieces and nephews: Blain, Calvin, Amanda, Will, Owen, Ben, Brandi, Travis, Cody, Nick, Isaac, Gianna, Teagan, and Jayden.

Janice was preceded in death by her father Bill Korns, her step-father John Bunn, and her niece Jenny Korns.

Memorial Services will be held at 7 P.M. Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn, Iowa.
