RITES FOR MRS. EDWARDS

Theresa "Rose" Lauber Edwards, 86, of Box 94, Kellogg, died early Saturday morning at the Colonial Manor in Baxter.

Funeral services were held at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Rev. H. Eugene Cedarholm, pastor of the Newton First Lutheran Church, conducted services. Graveside rites were conducted by Rev. A.L. Shultz, pastor of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kellogg, at Our Silent City Cemetery.

Mrs. Edwards, a lifelong resident of Jasper county, was born April 1, 1901, in Rock Creek township to George Philip and Elizabeth Barbara Diehm Lauber.

She married Andrew Edwards, Aug. 20, 1921 and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kellogg, American Legion auxiliary and Kellogg Senior Citizens Group. Mrs. Edwards had worked at Grinnell College as a housekeeper and at Midwest Manufacturing in Kellogg.

Surviving are her four sons Gerald, Kellogg; Donald Laverne, Calif.; Everett, Newton and Paul, Broken Arrow, Okla.; two daughters, Colleen Spain, Newton; and Dorothy Hubler, Denver, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elsie Wheeler of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Andrew; a daughter, Barbara in infancy; three brothers and one sister.
