PHIL HILLIGAS BURIED ON 7TH

Funeral services for Earnis E. (Phil) Hilligas, 67, were held June 7, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bramer Funeral Home in Brooklyn with the Rev. E.W. Holler officiating. His burial was in Kent Cemetery, with the American Legion conducting services.

Earnis E., son of David and Mary Ann Hilligas, was born in Poweshiek County January 25, 1885. He spent most of his life in the vicinity of Brooklyn with the exception of two and a half years in the navy in World War I. In his later years he worked for the Iowa Bridge Co., the Poweshiek County bridge crew and as night marshal for the town of Brooklyn.
