AGNES CREAMER

Agnes Ruth Creamer, 89, formerly of Grinnell, died Sunday, May 21, at United Medical Center in Moline, Ill.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dr. Anthony G. Farrell officiating. Organist was Kathleen Heffner, and vocalists were Ruth Ann Dayton and Wilma Schmitz.

Pallbearers were James D. Cunningham, Wayne Dayton, Don Henderson, Bernard Hotchkin, G.R. Schmidt and Bernard Schmitz.

Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Joseph Michael and Rose Ann Smith Essex, she was born Sept. 15, 1899, on a farm in Sugar Creek Township. She attended rural school.

She was married to Jeffrey Fanning Creamer Nov. 9, 1921, in Grinnell. The couple continued to live here until 1936 when they moved to Moline.

Mrs. Creamer is survived by one son, Maurice J. of Moline; a daughter, Irene Schafer of Miami, Fla.; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Frances Gilbert of rural New Sharon. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Kenneth; and two sisters, Mary Ellen "Mayme" Henderson and Lucy May McConkey.
