HARVEY JONES

Harvey T. Jones, 94, of Brooklyn, died Sunday afternoon, March 10, in his home.

Services for Mr. Jones will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 13, in the Nevenhoven Funeral Home. Rev. William B. Daylong, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Harvey Tesar Jones, son of Harlan S. Jones and Mary Tesar Jones, was born Sept. 11, 1901, on a farm northwest of Brooklyn in Madison Township, Poweshiek County.

He received his education in a rural school. He started farming with his parents. On Jan. 31, 1924, Harvey was married to Ina Mae Connell in the Brethren Parsonage near Brooklyn. They farmed in the Madison area, moving to a farm east of Brooklyn where they resided for many years. Mrs. Jones died Aug. 4, 1979. In recent years Harvey has resided in Hillside apartments in Brooklyn

Survivors include his daughter, Roberta Hand; one brother, Charles Jones of Brooklyn; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one grandchild, and one great-grandchild.
