SERVICES FOR FREDDIE HANSEN DECEMBER 30

Freddie Charlie Hansen was born on Sept. 20, 1919 at West Side, Iowa. He was one of 12 children born to the marriage of John and Mary Lorenzen Hansen. He grew to manhood in the area of his birthplace and attended rural school as well as the Manilla, Iowa public school.

On Aug. 19, 1941 Freddie became a member of the United States Army and served his country faithfully during World War II. It was during his enlistment that he was united in marriage to Phyllis Fiser at Denison.

Following his discharge he and Mrs. Hansen established their home in Victor. This was his home at the time of his death on Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the Veterans hospital in Iowa City. He had attained the age of 59 years, 2 months and 17 days.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Dale, and four brothers.
Freddie is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his daughter, Dolores; his sons, Dick, Doug, Dan, Greg, Gary and Geoff; seven grandchildren, two brothers, Tom and LeRoy, and five sisters, Freda, Anna, Rose, Minnie and Ellen. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Freddie will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and the outdoor sports of hunting and fishing.

Funeral services for Mr. Hansen were held Saturday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. at the McAninch-Fremming Chapel with Rev. Carl Lueders, pastor of the St. James Lutheran church, officiating. One organ selection, "Beautiful Savior" was played by Jane McHarg, organist. In care of flowers were Mr. and Mrs. Harold McLennan.

Concluding services and burial were held at the IOOF cemetery with Donald Rohrer, Richard Rohrer, Donald DeMeulenaere, Paul Kuesel, John Thys and Dean Fontinel serving as casket bearers.

Military rites were conducted by the Harold Smith Post No. 54 of the Victor American Legion.
