John Glen Miller, son of Martin and Lizzie Miller, was born near Granville, Iowa, Dec. 12, 1886; departed this life near Grinnell, Iowa, May 19, 1907 aged 20 yrs. 5 mos. 7 days. Being deprived of a mother's care at the tender age of 4 years, he was taken into the home of Harrison and Belle Fleener who cared for and loved him as their own. Five years ago he came with them from Searsboro to near Grinnell, their present home. He attended Cooper school and two terms in High School. Being liberated by previous contract, at eighteen years, since then he has been employed on salary by his benefactors. He leaves a father, four brothers and two sisters and two half-brothers and one half-sister with his foster parents to mourn his sad demise.
