AMOS GILBERT

Amos Gilbert was born March 25th, 1883 at Grinnell and died November 29th, 1955 at his farm home near Blue Point.

Educated in the Grinnell schools, on December 31st, 1903 he was united in marriage with Minnie McLain who preceded him in death on July 8th, 1948. A mason by trade, he moved to his farm nearly 25 years ago and had lived there since.

The last survivor of a family of eight children, he is survived by three sons, Raymond, Englewood, Colo.; Lloyd, Grinnell; Harry, Newton; and two daughters, Mrs. Harold (May) Talbert, Searsboro; and Lucille Gilbert, Grinnell.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, December 3rd from the James Funeral Home with the Rev. E.E. Beattie officiating. Mrs. Dolph Miller provided the solo and was accompanied by Mrs. Roscoe Dempster.

Pallbearers were William Bitcon, Harold Dimit, Henry Koger, John Peterson, Vern Milgate and Worth Belden.

Interment was at Hazelwood cemetery.
