JAMES ADAM PATTEN

James Adam Patten, who was born in Henry Co., Ill., July 16, 1863, died at his Brooklyn home May 11. He was nearly 79 years old.

He had lived practically all his life in the Brooklyn community. Dec. 26, 1888 he was united in marriage to Dora B. Sackett. Four children survive. They are Ira, Elizabeth, John and Hazel. A nephew Floyd Patten, whom he had cared for after the death of his mother, attended the funeral. He is now located at Jefferson Barracks, Mo. Twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. Two sisters and three brothers also survive. They are Mrs. Louisa Dunton, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Minnie Fultz, Des Moines; Henry Patten, Mair, Saskatchewan, Canada; Alfred and Ernie Patten, Brooklyn.
