GILBERT FUNERAL TO BE HELD HERE WEDNESDAY

Funeral services for Harvey A. Gilbert, 905 Bromley street, who died at 12:45 a.m. Sunday at the Evangelical Deaconess hospital, will be held at 2:30, Wednesday afternoon at the Pursel funeral home in charge of Rev. A.G. Dennis. Burial will be in Riverside.

Mr. Gilbert had been in poor health for about three years and was in the hospital the last four days. He first suffered a heart attack but later pneumonia developed and that was the immediate cause of his death.

He was born Sept. 8, 1882, in Grinnell, the son of John and Elizabeth Gilbert. He lived there as a child and then moved to Missouri, living near Kansas City. He was married 41 years ago to Miss Nellie Peters. They were the parents of six children, two dying in infancy.

Those surviving are Mrs. Clifford Johnson of Newton, Mrs. Melvin Hanson of Elgin, Ray Gilbert of West Union and Blayne Gilbert of Waterloo. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert were divorced and he was married Sept. 16, 1936, to Mrs. Nellie Foland of Osceola, who survives him. Also surviving are two step-children, Eugene and Arlene Foland, both of Gresham, Ore. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Olive Farnsworth of Mason City, a half-sister, Mrs. May Elhart of Butler, Mo., and a half-brother, Harrison Chipps of Kansas City, Mo.

Mr. Gilbert would have worked for the Marshall Manufacturing company for 26 years had he lived until next fall.
