W. WAYNE KEEFE

W. Wayne Keefe, 52, 615 No. 11th St., Oskaloosa, died July 9, 1980, at his home.

He was born June 18, 1928, at Brooklyn, the son of Paul and Letta Marietta Sherwood Keefe.

He was married June 18, 1948, at Pilot Mound, to Madonna June White. He owned and operated the Oskaloosa Ambulance Service for 18 years.

He was a veteran of the World War II Marine Corps, and a veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1946. He is past state commander of the American Legion in the year 1970-71.

He was also past commander for the Harry L. Anderson Post for two terms, the Fifth District commander for the American Legion, a member of the National Resolutions COmmittee of the American Legion, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, the Elks BPOE 340, and a member of VFW.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Keefe; one son, Kevin Keefe of Des Moines; a daughter, Karen L. Keefe, who is a student at Central College in Pella; his father, Harry Patten of Blairstown; two brothers, Don Keefe of Burnside, Ill., and Dean Patten of Coulter; and his mother-in-law, Dolly Groom of Pilot Mound.

Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Thomas Doyle officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.

The Garland-VanArkel Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established in his name.
