FRANCES FOSTER DIES
Granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Foster Succumbs To Scarlet Fever

Word was received here Wednesday of the death of Frances Foster, three and one half year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Foster, at Adams, Minn., on Tuesday, September 18, 1923. Death came as the result of illness with scarlet fever.

The body was brought to Grinnell last evening and short funeral servics, conducted by Rev. H.L. Wissler, were held at the grave at 2:00 o'clock this afternoon. Interment was made at Hazelwood.

The child's father is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Foster who live north west of town. The whole family has been ill with scarlet fever for several weeks and it was at first reported that the father had died. A telephone call to the undertaker at Adams secured the information that it was the daughter who had died and that Mr. Foster was improving and was able to sit up. Mrs. Foster, who is still very ill, has been under the care of a trained nurse for three weeks. One other child is not expected to live.

Mr. Foster was a resident of this community until he moved to Minnesota about four years ago.
