LEONA JANE ELAM

NEW SHARON--Leona Jane Elam, 81, New Sharon, died at the New Sharon Care Center Thursday morning.

She was the daughter of John and Ella Shultz. She was married to Clarence Orr and he died in 1926. She then married Claude Elam in Albia in September of 1930.

Surviving are her husband, Claude; two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Elsie) Coleman and Mrs. Tracy (Florence) Reed, both of New Sharon; two sons, Lawrence "Bud" Orr of Nebraska City, Neb., and Clarence of Glenview, Ill.; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mable Benjamin, Jackson, Minn., and Ellen Glen of Wisconsin.

Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by one son, one grandson, three brothers and two sisters.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon with the Rev. Scott Woodworth officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery in New Sharon.
