Millard S. Main

BROOKLYN - Millard S. Main, 78, of Brooklyn, a former resident of Searsboro, died Saturday, March 12, at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines of heart failure.

Funeral services will e held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Grinnell United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Ivy Hill Cemetery in Malcom.

Survivors are his wife, Kathryn; and a daughter, Miriam Saunders of Grinnell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jim, and three brothers, Ramson Reeves, Leon Main and Marvin Main.

Mr. Main had farmed in Poweshiek County until his retirement in 1975. He moved to Brooklyn and worked in the Grinnell College Physical Education Complex for 10 years.

Mr. Main was a former member of the Farm Bureau.

The son of Clarence and Minnie Stanley Main, he was born Oct. 15, 1915 in Searsboro, and was educated in Searsboro and Grinnell schools.

He was married to Kathryn Mc Keag June 14, 1941 in Memphis, Mo. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily news, March 1994.
