HOTT--Died, at Trinidad, Colo., Sept. 4, Mrs. John Hott, aged 45 years, 10 months and 28 days. Resided in Brooklyn from 1856 to 1886.

The Trinidad (Colo.) Daily Advertiser Sept. 5, gives the following information concerning the death of Mrs. Hott: "Mrs. Hott, the well-known milliner whose place of business is next door to the Advertiser office, died very suddenly last evening about 6 o'clock. Several weeks ago she was thrown from a wagon and sustained a broken ankle, since which time she has been laid up, the confinement naturally rendering her nervous and weak. Her husband has been subject to sudden attacks of faintness and on yesterday Mrs. Hott thought she observed signs of an approaching attack on her husband. In giving instructions to those about her for his care she became very nervous and excited, and before any one was aware of it she swooned and although medical assistance was at once procured she never regained consciousness, breathing her last in about an hour. So sudden was the passing away of the lady those about her could scarcely realize that she was dead. Mrs. Hott was a most estimable lady, having made many friends since coming to Trinidad. To the bereaved ones universal sympathy will be extended." The remains were brought to Brooklyn on the afternoon train from the west Tuesday and were taken immediately to the cemetery where a short service was conducted by Rev. E. Benson, pastor of the Presbyterian church of which Mrs. Hott was a regular attendant while living in Brooklyn. It was a sorrowful gathering--at the grave--many of the old friends of the deceased being present. Mrs. Hott was a lday of rare gifts and was loved by all. To the sorrowing husband who is almost crushed by this blow will go out the sympathy of all and will hope that in his hours of trouble and in his declining years God will be merciful to him.

Those who accompanied the remains to Brooklyn were: Mr. John Hott and son Earnest, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Triplett, Trinidad, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Manatt, Elmer and Jeff Manatt, Mr. and Mrs. Will Stowe, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Baggs, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Norris, Mr. Sam Norris, of Grinnell.
