John Connor, Second Iowa Cavalryman, Dies at Home

John Connor,a member of the Soldiers home from Brooklyn, died at 9 o'clock Monday night in the home hospital of general debility. He was 76 years old and a native of New York.

Mr. Connor was admitted to the home July 20, 1900. He enlisted as a recruit in Company B, Second Iowa Cavalry, Jan. 20, 1865 at Davenport. He was discharged on September 19 of the same year at Selma, Ala.

Mr. Connor is survived by his wife and two children. The widow, Mrs. Jane E. Connor, is a member of the home. A daughter, Mrs. J.H. Graham lives at Manilla and a son, W.A. Connor in this city.

The funeral will be held from the home morgue at 3:30 Wednesday afternoon, in charge of Chaplain Jesse Cole, who will conduct a brief service at the grave. Burial will follow in the home cemetery.
