Due to failing health in 1951 he came to live in the home of his sister and her husband Mr. and Mrs. Eli Bryan, of Montezuma, where he remained most of the time until three days before his death when he was taken for care in the Killian nursing home, where he passed away.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother and four brothers. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Mattie Bryan, 14 nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and friends.

Mr. Quaintance was a man of upright character, kindly and friendly, and will be greatly missed by those near to him.
