The Montezuma Republican, August 16, 1945: Mrs. Roy Fisher Funeral Monday: Funeral services for Mrs. Roy FISHER were said from the Presbyterian Church in Malcolm at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon with Rev. HOLLER officiating. Allene SANDERMAN sang "Rock of Ages," "Nearer My God to Thee", and "Going Home," accompanied by Mrs. Lester BALTISBERGER. Flowerbearers were Mrs. Ward PULS and Mrs. Hollis LARSON. Pallbearers were five nephews, Vincent and Wallace McINTYRE, Everrett MANLEY, Norman KUEBLER and Donald WATT, and one young friend and neighbor, Ward PULS. Burial was in the Ivy Hill Cemetery at Malcolm.

Obituary: Nellie May DOWNEY, daughter of William and Mary DOWNEY, was born in Louisa County, Ill., May 24, 1882 and departed this life August 10, 1945, at the age of 63 years, 2 months, and 10 days, following a long illness. She was united in marriage to Charles PALMER, to which union one daughter, Velma, was born. A few years later he passed away and in 1917 she was united in marriage to Roy FISHER. Surviving are her husband, Roy; the daughter, Mrs. Grady SPARKS of Detroit; two grandchildren, Mrs. Arlo BARNES, and Mrs. Donald SCHULTZ of Malcolm; three great grandchildren; one brother and four sisters, John DOWNEY and Mrs. Fred Nichols of Muscatine, Mrs. Charles BEAR and Mrs. Fred McINTYRE of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Ethel WONNELL of Davenport. Her father and mother and one brother preceded her in death. She was a resident of the Malcolm community for the last 28 years and was held in high esteem by everyone. A host of other relatives and friends are left to mourn her loss. Those attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Grady SPARKS, Mr. and Mrs. Charles BEAR, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace McINTYRE, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent McINTYRE, Mr. and Mrs. Everrett MANLEY of Detroit, Mich.; Fred NICHOLS, Norman KUEBLER, Archie DOWNEY, Robert DOWNEY of Muscatine; Mr. and Mrs. Donald WATT of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Beryl HAYNES of Marshalltown; and Dr. Alma CHAPMAN of York, Nebr.
