FATHER OF CHARLO WOMAN PASSES AWAY IN NACHES

William S. Clem, 90, pioneer and former mayor of Naches, Wash., died recently in a nursing home there. He was the father of Mrs. Lila Evans of Charlo.

He was born in Brooklyn, Iowa, and came to the Naches area in 1908. In 1911 he homestead in the Charlo area and remained there until 1923 when he returned to Naches where he was a carpenter and contractor. He later operated a cabinet shop until his retirement about 10 years ago.

He and his wife were married for more than 64 years at the time of her death in 1954. He is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Lonnie Sedge, Naches, and Mrs. Stanley Pence, Yakima; 16 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren
