Services Said For Mary Appleby

Died July 15th,. Lived Long and Useful Life.

Funeral services for Mary Amelia Lange Appleby were held at the James Funeral Home at Grinnell, Monday, July 7, at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Lloyd Knouf was in charge. Interment was at Ivy Hill cemetery, Malcom.
Pall bearers were Raymond Puls, Irvin Schultz, Ray Wylie, Leo Kelm, Grover Eisele, and Lavern Kelm. Music was by Mrs. Roscoe Dempster and Mrs. Dolph Miller.

Obituary

Mary Amelia Lange Appleby, daughter of Frank Lange and Henriette Schultz, was born on the Appleby farm northwest of Malcom February 28, 1867, and passed away in the St. Francis Hospital at 2 a.m. July 5, 1952.
She was home and treated her family , and spent her entire life on the home place northwest of Malcom.
On January 23, 1890, she was united in marriage to Charles Appleby at Chester. To them were born three children. Reno B., Stella M., and Clarence M.
She was the last of a family of six and is survived by her husband and three children. Reno B. Appleby, of Vinton, Stella M. Stone of Grand Junction, and Clarence M. Appleby at the home place; four grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
She was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church north of Malcom and attended the Malcom Methodist Church.
She was known to all as a good woman and a hard worker., She is greatly loved by her many friends and be missed by them all.
