MARRIED.

RUTHERFORD-BEVERLY.

A prettier wedding could hardly be imagined than the one at the home of Mrs. Fannie H. Rutherford,1202 Elm street, on Wednesday evening, when her daughter, Ruth Almira, became the bride of Claude Elston Beverly, of Steamboat Springs, Colo. Thirty-five relatives and friends were present. The single ring ceremony was performed by Rev. J.M. Brown of the Methodist church. The home had been tastefully decorated in the color scheme of pink and white. Sweet peas, rose, smilax and ferns made a most attractive effect. The bride wore a gown of crepe de chine with a lace bodice and carried a bride's bouquet of roses, lilies of the valley and maiden hair ferns.

The ceremony took place at 8 o'clock. Miss Genevieve Sherman, a cousin of the bride, was ring bearer, and Miss Lois Newton played Mendelssohn's wedding march. Preceding the ceremony Miss Helen Thomson sang "At Dawning."

Following the ceremony a splendid three-course supper was served, the guests being seated at small tables. The gifts were valuable and practical and there were many of them.

Mr. and Mrs. Beverly left that night for Kansas City, where they will visit for some time before going to their new home in Steamboat Rock, Colo., where the groom has prepared a fine new bungalow.

Most of Mrs. Beverly's life has been spent in Grinnell and she has established an unusually large circle of sincere friends. She has proved herself to be worthy of the respect and admiration of all and is a young lady of much talent. She graduated from the Grinnell high school in 1915.

Her husband is a comparative stranger to Grinnell people, but has made an excellent record in every way. He is engaged in real estate and loan work and has been unusually successful.

Mr. and Mrs. Beverly leave Grinnell with the sincere good wishes of the community.
