NICHOLAS MUCKLER
ENDS HIS LIFE
BY HANGING

Nicholas Muckler, for practically all his life a resident of the Newburg neighborhood, ended his life by hanging last Friday. He entered his hog house while the family was away in the morning and it was 3:40 o'clock in the afternoon before his body was discovered by William Guffey. He had been dead for several hours.

Coroner O. Dale Smith was summoned. He conducted an investigation but decided that no inquest was necessary. Mr. Muckler had been despondent for some time on account of ill health, and this is supposed to be the reason for his act.

He had been a useful citizen and was generally respected.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the farm home near Newburg, conducted by Rev. H.I. Wilkins of Chester. Burial was in the Gilman cemetery.
