BEHRENS-MARTEN

Miss Elda Behrens and Mr. Fred Marten were united in marriage, Thursday, Dec 18, 1924, at 3 p.m. in S. John's Lutheran church, northeast of Deep River, Rev. F. Kreutz, Sr., officiating.

The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Behrens. She is an exceptionally well equipped young lady, both by nature and training, for the successful and graceful discharge of the new duties she has assumed. Endued with many natural and acquired charms which she supplements with a fine Christian character, she is at once a prime favorite in church and social circles. She has been active in young people's work and her influence along this line is felt throughout the entire community.

The groom is an exemplary young man and well worthy of the matrimonial prize he has drawn. He is a member of St. John's and an active supporter of all church activities. He came to this community from Postville, Iowa, a few years ago and by his manly conduct has won a host of friends and a warm place in the hearts of the people of the community.

The couple will be at home on a farm east of Deep River shortly.--Deep River Record.
