T.J. Noll went to the G.A.R. convention in Des Moines Tuesday with a special purpose in addition to attending the meetings. He went to see a brother, John E. Noll, of Portland, Oregon, whom he had not seen for thirty-five years. They served together in Company C of the 146 Illinois Infantry. John E. Noll and his daughter are now in Des Moines and are expected to visit in the T.J. Noll home next week. It was a happy time for both brothers.

Mr. Noll had also hoped to see another brother, Benjamin F. Noll of Los Angeles but was disappointed. He had stopped in Denver to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of his second marriage and had decided not to come any farther. He is 89 years old.

Benjamin Noll had quite a career in the Union army and was sergeant of the guard which was stationed at the scaffold at the time of the execution of Mrs. Suratt, who plotted the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
