MULLEN-PROVIN
At the M.E. parsonage, on Wednesday afternoon at five o'clock, occurred the marriage of Edna, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mullen, and Clyde Provin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Provin, the Rev. W.G. Edie, pastor of the M.E. church, officiating. The young couple was attended by Mildred Molin, close friend of the bride, and Eugene Mullen, brother of the bride.
The bride was chramingly gowned in peach color crepe, with lace flounces.
Immediately after the ceremony the wedding party repaired to the home of the bride's parents, where a sumptuous dinner was served, the immediate families of both bride and groom and a few intimate friends being present. The home and the table were beautifully decorated in pink and white, the bride's chosen colors.
Early in the evening a large crowd from town and the surrounding countryside turned out and gave the newlyweds a good old-fashioned charivari. A few of the band boys from Malcom, Hartwick, and Guernsey, under the leadership of Elza Bramer, played a number of selections, which were enjoyed by all. After offering congratulations the crowd was directed to Rieck's restaurant where Mr. Provin liberally set up the treats. The band boys were invited to the home of their leader's mother, Mrs. Minnie Dappen, where they enjoyed a banquet.--Montezuma Republican.
