One of the most important business changes in recent years here occurred yesterday when J.W. Fowler and Ed. Newcomer made a trade whereby the stirring Maplehurst man takes over the entire property of the Grinnell Creamery and J.W. Fowler gets in return the former Ned Rice farm six miles west of Grinnell.

The change involves a total of $137,615, and takes out of the creamery business a man who has been a it since 1888, when he started his famous Holstein Dairy Creamery seven miles southeast of Grinnell. In 1900 Mr. Fowler moved to Council Bluffs and in 1901 returned to Grinnell and started his famous Grinnell Creamery, Ice and Cold Storage plant.

The business has grown and the town has grown, and Fowler's reputation has extended to the east where big customers buy his butter and other products. "Fowler Brand Means Purity" and the public has learned it and Fowler's Ice Cream and butter enjoys a good name all over Central Iowa.

Ed Newcomer is one of the men who put Newburg on the map and his Maplehurst dairy and butter is widely known, and Mr. Newcomer will use the same kind of pep in the Grinnell business that he has used in everything he touches.

Over the telephone Ed tells us that he will make improvements in the plant and will keep it first class in every respect.

Ed Squire will have charge of the Grinnell plant.
