APPROACHING MARRIAGE OF
MISS MYRTLE HOCKETT AND
MR. LLOYD GILBERT ANNOUNCED

The approaching marriage of Miss Myrtle Hockett to Mr. Lloyd Gilbert was announced at a dinner party given Tuesday evening by Miss Hockett at her home, 827 Prince street.

The secret was revealed on the place cards. On the cover of the place card were the two initials, M. H. and L. G. with "Sh!" following it. On the inside of the place card, interspersed with the menu, were the same initials with the date, November 29, 1933.

A green and white color scheme was carried out in the table decorations and appointments and a delicious two-course dinner was served at 6:30. Of special attraction was the birthday cake decorated with white and green icing with the dates 1912 and 1933 on the top.

Sharing the courtesy were the girls who work at the same table at the glove factory with the honored guest and a few friends. Covers were arranged for Mrs. Harold Hockett, Mrs. Fern Neighbors, Mrs. Elsie Anderson, the Misses Ruth Vogt, Flora Zimmerman, Lucille Gilbert, Louise Cox, Bertha Pearson, Bernice Hockett, Gladys McConnell and the guest of honor.

The evening hours were pleasantly spent in an informal manner. The honored guest was the recipient of many lovely gifts.

Miss Hockett is a daughter of Mr. and Mr. J.L. Hockett. She is a graduate of Grinnell high school in the class of 1931. For the past several months she has been employed in the sewing room at the glove factory.

Mr. Gilbert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Gilbert of the Blue Point neighborhood. For a period of years he has been engaged in farming.
