PRE-NUPTIAL COURTESY GIVEN
BY MISS GLADYS MCCONNELL

Miss Myrtle Hockett and Mr. Lloyd Gilbert whose marriage will be an event of November 29, were honored at a pre-nuptial courtesy Wednesday evening given by Miss Gladys McConnell at her home, 709 Eighth avenue. The courtesy was in the form of an evening party and kitchen shower and was shared by twenty-three people. The first part of the evening was spent playing games appropriate for the occasion and a chalk talk was given by Mr. Norman Hockett. Dainty refreshments were served by the hostess assisted by her mother, Mrs. Thomas McConnell.

The honored guests were told there was a large washing for them to do in the dining room and upon investigation they found there were two large baskets filled with packages for them. When these were unwrapped the dining room table was nicely covered with many useful as well as beautiful gifts for use in their kitchen.
