BULLET IN SPINE DOESN'T BOTHER HIM

Although a bullet is lodged in his spine at the base of the skull, Jack Wakely, nine-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Wakely, living north of Montezuma, is perfectly comfortable and doesn't seem to show any ill effects. Jack was shot Sunday by the accidental discharge of a .22 rifle in the hands of his 14-year-old brother, William. The bullet entered his nose, went along the roof of his mouth and finally lodged in the spine as stated. An x-ray examination revealed the location of the bullet and Jack was taken home to await developments. Unless infection develops, it is likely that the bullet will be left right where it is, as it doesn't seem to be doing any harm.
