MARIE FORCE WEDS LESTER SLAGLE SUNDAY
Miss Marie Force, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Force became the bride of Lester Slagle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Slagle on Sunday evening, September 5 at 8 p.m. in the Grace Methodist church at Brooklyn. The Rev. C.E. Thiele, pastor of the church performed the single ring ceremony. Appropriate nuptial organ music was provided by Mrs. C.H. Manatt.
The bride wore a street length dress of blue crepe with black accessories. Her corsage was white asters and she carried a white bible.
Miss Shirley Patten, a classmate of the bride and serving as maid of honor, wore a pink dress with black accessories. Her corsage was of white asters also.
Truman Humphrey, brother of the groom, served as best man. The bride graduated from the Brooklyn High school with the class of 1948.
The groom attended Montezuma High school and served 4-1/2 years in the army. He is employed at the Fullerton Lumber Co.
Mr. and Mrs. Slagle are living in the house owned by C.Y. Barnett in northwest Brooklyn.
