COUNTY NEWS

Brooklyn enjoyed a sensational case in court a week ago. It seems that a lot of young fellows got into trouble with a man named Tew, for whom they were picking chickens. Suit was brot against him on the charge of using false weights when he sold poultry at retail. Several witnesses were examined but their testimony was so contradictory that Co. Atty. Lyman decided it was a put up job and refused to make an argument on the case. The justice dismissed Tew from court. The Chronicle intimates that the grand jury will examine the chief swearers and see if a case of perjury can be made out against them.
