PILGRIM-AHRENS

An early May wedding was that of Miss Lola Pilgrim, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N.O. Pilgrim and Lester Ahrens, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Ahrens, which occurred Wednesday noon at Marshalltown at the Methodist parsonage, Rev. Mr. Cleworth performing the ceremony. The bridal couple were attended by Miss Nellie Ahrens, sister of the groom, and Mr. Herman McNeal. The bride wore a sunburst canton dress and carried a bouquet of pink roses. They returned to Grinnell in the afternoon and a six o'clock dinner was served at the Ahrens home complimentary to them.

Mrs. Ahrens was one of the active members of the class of 1922 of the high school and since that time has been a successful teacher in the rural schools. She attended summer school at Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls and at Drake University. Mr. Ahrens graduated with the class of 1919 from Grinnell High School and since that time has been engaged in farming with his father.

Mr. and Mrs. Ahrens are now at home on the H.H. Ahrens farm east of town.
