The Weekly Republican; Montezuma, Iowa; Jan. 4, 1899

Married. At 6 o'clock, Dec. 20th, '98, at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. George Windhurst, occurred the marriage of Miss Gertrude V. Linder and Mr. W.H. Manor, presiding elder Wilson, of Grinnell, officiating, before a few friends. Miss May Beeler was bridesmaid and Mr. Louis Windhurst was groomsman. After the wedding supper the happy couple went to Grinnell and took the eleven o'clock train for Detroit, Michigan, to visit the parents and relatives of the groom. They expect to visit there until near spring when they will return and make their home in Williamsburg, Iowa county, where they will be pleased to welcome their friends. The groom is an industrious young man and has made many friends here during his short acquiantance. The bride has grown to womanhood among us and was a general favorite especially among the children, as she always had a smile and kind word for them whenever she met them. For several years she has been a successful music teacher. She was a member of the Christian Endeavor and Sunday school at Jacob, Iowa, and was always ready to help as organist. She was also organist at church and did much to make the singing service a success. She will be greatly missed by her many friends here who wish her all the happiness this life affords. May they take the Savior into their new home and ever live near and be guided by Him is the wish and prayer of a friend.
